چکیده

Abstract Shales are mostly unexploited energy resources. However, the extraction and production of their hydrocarbons require innovative methods. Applications involving carbon dioxide in shales could combine its potential use oil recovery with storage view impact on global climate. The success these approaches highly depends various mechanisms taking place rock pores simultaneously. In this work, properties governing presented at technically relevant conditions. pendant sessile drop methods utilized to measure interfacial tension wettability, respectively. gravimetric method is used quantify CO 2 adsorption capacity shale gas kinetics evaluated determine diffusion coefficients. Carbon Dioxide Storage in Natural Gas Reservoirs

Carbon Dioxide Storage in Natural Gas Reservoir — The general idea of CO2 disposal in gas reservoirs is that the underground volume of the ultimately recoverable hydrocarbons (gas and condensate) is replaced by CO2. This paper investigates the feasibility of carbon dioxide disposal in depleted gas reservoirs. Gas reservoirs are a practical storage site for the carbon dioxide, because the presen...

Investigation of the interaction of carbon dioxide fluid with internal and external single-wall carbon nanotubes by DFT

The effective parameters of (5, 0) and (5, 5) single-wall carbon nanotubes during the interaction with carbon dioxide as sensors are determined. The interaction of carbon dioxide  molecules with internal and external walls of the nanotubes is studied using Gaussian 03 coding by density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP/6-311G level of theory. CO2 rotation around tube axles vertically and par...

Nitrogen and carbon dioxide adsorption by soils.

High-resolution nitrogen (77 K) and carbon dioxide (273 K) adsorption at subatmospheric pressures has been studied for a range of model soils of various origins with different organic matter (OM) contents. It is demonstrated that N2 and CO2 molecules probe different regions of soil particles. Nitrogen is adsorbed primarily on the outer surface of soil particles, while CO2 has a higher affinity ...

Investigation of Carbon Dioxide Adsorption on Amino-Functionalized Mesoporous Silica

Carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorption on unfunctionalized and amino-functionalized SBA-3 materials are investigated and compared in this study. The synthesized materials are characterized by various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) method, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The isotherms of these materials have been measure...
